Louise Wood MA SpLD (Dyslexia)
Experienced Specialist Assessor (APC), Early Literacy Teacher and Specific Learning Difficulties Consultant
Â
An Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) is a professional certificate that recognises the specialist knowledge, skills and competence of a qualified assessor in identifying specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia. It is valid for three years and must be renewed in accordance with the issuing body's requirements. Renewal involves demonstrating appropriate continuing professional development and evidence of assessment and reporting practice that meets the relevant SpLD Assessment Standards Committee (SASC) criteria.Â
If an assessor holds a current APC, teachers and parents can have added confidence that an assessment is being undertaken by a suitably qualified specialist who works within recognised professional standards and aims to provide meaningful guidance to support the individual's learning and progress.
Testimonials
"Detailed and Supportive"Â
"Having four children with dyslexia, two of whom were evaluated by Louise, I can confidently say she is the most exceptional assessor we have encountered. The quality of her post-assessment guidance and individual support is truly unparalleled. She turned a daunting process into an incredibly constructive and uplifting journey for our family."
